Bad to the Bone '10
Written by Julie Reyes, Phi09
The midyear rain was unstoppable, but so was the party at Robinsons Residences 7th floor, flooded with free flowing drinks, booming sounds, psychedelic lights and happy people – freshmen, sisses and brods. And as a reminder of what has transpired in case anyone forgets for any reason whatsoever (ahem, Party Shaker Mobile Bar, ahem), instant photo printouts were given out care of Snapshots Photobooth.
Sisses and Brods from all levels took some time away from the usual med toxicity to enjoy the night with Phi and to meet the members of class 2015, who by the way are awesome at partying. Shots were available the whole night and toasts were called left and right (To 203! To Diliman! To friendship that never ends!) – it’s incredible how people never run out of things to toast to.
The success of this year’s Bad to the Bone as well as those of the past years’ show that med students don’t use up all their nights eating books and breathing transes; some nights they choose to just relax and let loose. And those nights, albeit few and far in between, are just right to recharge a soul, who at the end of the day will still choose the impossibly difficult but infinitely fulfilling life of medicine over anything much, much easier.
