It’s the morning of Christmas eve and while lazy schoolchildren around the country are still in bed, the sisses of the Phi Lambda Delta sorority were hard at work giving out gift bags containing alcohol, cotton, shampoo, toothpaste, a toothbrush, a towel, soap and a tissue roll to the patients of the Philippine General Hospital. The gift bags, as well as juice and cookies from sis Mia Dantes, Phi ‘11A, were given away to hundreds of admitted patients in the Emergency Room, Internal Medicine Wards 1 & 3, Neurology Ward 5, Rehabilitation Ward, Obstetric and Gynecology Ward 15, and the Trauma Ward. Hopefully, the efforts of the resident sisses and the generosity of sis Consolacion “Cholet” Sison-Switala, who sponsored “Pagkalma: Home of Santa” helped the patients of PGH have a merrier Christmas this year.
